SCANDINAVIAN ROCK NIGHT HEAT CAME VILA REAL
By: Ricardo Fishing on Thursday, October 28 2010Comenta!

The Swedish band Val and The Bitches act came to the bar Undergreen in Vila Real on the 27th.

This quartet led by singer Val, as its name indicates, went to Portugal for a mini tour in order to present the new EP titled, making only two stops in our country: the first in Vila Real, Leiria and the second in on 30 October.

The expectation created around this concert made this band from northern Europe had a full house, thus attracting many spectators, mostly young people who have the habit to watch shows that alternative and are regular customers of the space in question. The curiosity was undoubtedly the greatest attraction of the event point, because there are rare times that there is a chance to enjoy performances by artists from a country where the cultural content is so different.

The concert did not disappoint even the most discerning listeners loyal to the positive connotations because that preceded them, and together with the same atmosphere as the restaurant, the Val and The Bitches did justice to his reputation and the whole image that served to publicize the event, all showing a burst of emotional energy that left everyone in ecstasy. It was easy to notice this fact because of the heated air and excited spectators showed at the end of the concert.

Although the artists make a very original sound and current, could make a little trip back in time and revisit numerous traces of punk, new wave, among other styles, which were more prominent in past decades. Obey all the details that made themselves about their influences, with a radius “ranging from The Clash to the Stooges, the New York Dolls to Blondie, the Eagles of Death Metal to the Kills, the Talking Heads of Devo” as stated in the poster presentation of the band. All these influences make those Val and the Bitches thes have a sound so peculiar and so difficult to categorize.

As one young man who attended the concert, Victor Cruz, who appeared to be pleased with the musical show, “this type of initiative is lacking in Vila Real because it breaks the monotony that sometimes makes itself felt in this city and is an asset to enjoy a concert like this without having to pay anything. ”
